Ah yes, the one day we can finally admit we eat carbs! These wonderful tacos are located at the Filling Station in Sparks, Maryland. It’s our favorite coffee spot because they sell boxed water, and you have to go to a coffee shop to get that shit.
Back to the actual tacos- which were, pardon my language, dank. It’s normal to expect authentic Oaxacan food in a random Baltimore suburb. Baltimore is known for it’s Mexican food and not “The Wire”! Sarah got the chicken plate and I (Libby) got a single garnachita. I had to overcome my white privilege by trying to order something vegans hadn’t appropriated yet. Seriously, I still don’t know how to pronounce garnachita, but it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was superb and we fully recommend it, especially since pronunciation will never be an issue we hope.
We washed down our picturesque lunch with some iced coffee and locally brewed (fermented?) kombucha. I mean, how much more authentic Mexican can you get than a Baltimore suburb that has an average annual household income of over 150k? I know for sure, we can’t.
